About Me

I've been with Red Deer Public School District since 1991.  I taught at Lindsay Thurber Comprehensive High School for 23 years in a variety of subjects and roles before accepting the position of Vice-Principal at Eastview Middle School in August of 2013.  In August of 2018, I joined the staff at Hunting Hills High School as Vice-Principal.   As we all transitioned into online learning and at-home lessons in the Spring of 2020, we learned, more than ever, it takes a team working together to teach our children.  That team spans outside the walls of the school into the home and the broader community.  Moving to Oriole Park allows me the opportunity to work with an amazing team of professionals - Teachers, EA's, our OP Community Liaison Worker, the Administrative Assistants, and our wonderful custodial staff - along with our parents and guardians - to not only foster intellectual growth in the students of OP, but also to help them embrace learning, to ask questions, and be socially responsible citizens.  Prior to my years teaching with Red Deer Public, I had previously taught at Memorial Composite High School, Stony Plain Junior High, and New Norway School grades 1, 2, Jr. High & High School.

My husband Rob and I have raised our blended family in Red Deer since the early '90s and we are blessed that three of our four children are all living and working in Red Deer.  Our youngest son is finishing his university degree on "the Island" at VIU and I am holding my breath that I haven't 'lost him to the island'.

On behalf of the admin team, office staff and the teaching & support staff professionals at Oriole Park, I would like to welcome all students and parents into our school - we look forward to working together with you to create a wonderful atmosphere that engages learning in an inclusive environment for every child.
