About Me

I grew up in Olds Alberta, and moved to Red Deer in 1998 to earn my Bachelor's degree in Education through the University of Alberta/RDC Collaborative Program. In 2003, my teaching journey began with Grade One on the O'Chiese First Nation Reserve, Northwest of Rocky Mountain House. Since returning to Red Deer in 2005, I have also taught Kindergarten, Grade Three, Grade Four, and Pathways. I spent two years as a Learning Assistance Teacher, further enhancing my own practice while working closely with many wonderful professionals and families. I am extremely excited to return to Grade One this year and I look forward to each and every busy day of learning!

I enjoy reading, yoga, hiking, camping, and photography (particularly capturing old farm buildings, homesteads, and ghost towns). Always eager to learn something new, I have recently begun sketching these old buildings as well. My favourite family activities include hiking and camping, as well as embarking on Earth Rangers Adventures with my seven year old daughter Faith! My son Thomas turns 1 on September 13 and he is already quite the character! Both kids definitely keep me moving! If you'd like to see some photos to get to know my family better, click here!
Like my home, my classroom runs on love, laughter and lots of caffeine!
